WPC is watching three areas where flash flooding will be a concern through tonight. One area covers much of the Desert Southwest into the central Rockies. Another one covers the coastal mid-Atlantic region down to the coast of Georgia. The third area covers much of Iowa. The top figure highlighted these areas with green and blue lines on top of a colored visible image at 17:15Z together with the 15Z WPC surface analysis. In addition, we currently have two MPDs in effect for parts of the Southwest and the mid-Atlantic.
