WPD Gang Unit Arrest 4 During Drug Trafficking Investigation Worcester, MA (January 22, 2015) - Members of the Worcester Police Gang Unit and the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit were conducting undercover drug buys from suspect Carlos Falu, 55-years-old of 6 Tatman Street, Worcester and Eduardo Ortiz-Burgos, 34-years-old of 86 Prospect Street for the past three months. On Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at approximately 7:42 PM, an undercover officer met with Mr. Falu at 25 Hooper Street to make a drug purchase. The officer made plans to purchase two small bags of heroin. Undercover officers have made several controlled drug buys from both men during the past months. Once the meeting was confirmed officers set up surveillance in the area of 25 Hooper Street. A blue mini-van arrived shortly thereafter and Mr. Falu exited the vehicle. He approached the undercover officer and completed the deal. Mr. Falu walked back to the mini-van while the undercover officer walked away. The van drove off with Mr. Falu standing in front of 25 Hooper Street. Mr. Falu was immediately taken into police custody by the officers conducting surveillance. The van was followed by other undercover officers at the scene. The van was eventually signaled to stop on Liberty Street. In the van was Mr. Ortiz-Burgos, Ms. Christina Warner, 28-years-old of 153 Oak Street, Westborough, MA and Mr. Ricardo Castillo, 20-years-old of 42 Sterling Street, Worcester. All three were removed from the van and placed under arrest. A search of Mr. Castillo produced documented money that the undercover officer gave to Mr. Falu for the drug purchase. A further search of Mr. Castillo produced 1 knotted baggie that contained crack cocaine and another baggie containing heroin. As a result of this investigation, Mr. Ortiz-Burgos was charged with Distribution of Class A Substance, Mr. Falu was charged with Distribution of Class A Substance and a Warrant for Distribution and Possession of Class A and B Substances, Mr. Castillo was charged with Possession of Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Distribution of Class A Substance, Trafficking in Heroin (14-27 Grams) and Possession of Class B Substance and Ms. Warner was charged with Knowingly Being Present where Heroin is Kept. All suspects were arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
