WPD Investigating Shooting Incident on Suffield Street Worcester, MA (April 26, 2014) - On Saturday April 26, 2014 at approximately 4:30 PM, Worcester police responded to 15 Suffield Street for a report of a shooting incident involving two victims. Several officers responded to the scene. Arriving officers observed a 20-year-old male victim sitting in a motor vehicle parked in front of 15 Suffield Street and a 32-year-old male victim sitting on the front steps of the same address. Both males were suffering from gunshot wounds. Both males were conscious and alert. The injuries appear to be non-life threatening. The victims were transported to U-Mass Medical (university campus) for treatment. Officers at the scene were told that the suspect was a Hispanic male, approximately 20 to 25 years old, wearing a dark colored hooded sweat shirt and sweat pants. The suspect approached from the opposite side of the street, fired the shots and fled on foot down Suffield Street, heading towards Perry Avenue. Members of the investigative units arrived at the scene and canvassed the neighborhood and conducted interviews with witnesses. The Crime Scene Unit arrived and processed evidence. The Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit arrived and assisted investigators in locating evidence nearby the shooting scene. This investigation is ongoing.
