WRAL INVESTIGATES THE FAYETTEVILLE VA MEDICAL CENTER Thousands of Veterans call Fayetteville home, including me. I was stationed at Fort Bragg in 1978 as a Ranger Qualified Combat Communications Officer with the 35th Signal Brigade. As a reporter, I’ve been around the world following our troops as they protect our freedom from terrorists. In recent months I’ve received a number of complaints from Vets through social media about their experiences with the VA Medical Center on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. The Medical Center has come under scrutiny for having one of the longest wait times for patients to see a primary care doctor, a specialist or to gain access to Mental Health professionals. I’ve listened to the stories of our Veterans. Some of them are heartbreaking. WRAL has attempted to get some answers. I recently talked with Elizabeth Goolsby, the Director of the VA Medical Center here in Fayetteville in an attempt to get some answers for our Vets. She was very candid with her answers about the problems our Vets and her medical center are having. You can check out my compelling story Monday at 5:30, as WRAL Investigates the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville.
