WRITING TIP EIGHTY-SIX: WHERE TO DRAW THE LINE - Hoo boy I have been getting this a LOT lately. (question-wise as far as I am concerned) Let me tell you something about writers. There is a story in all of us....some of us put it down on paper, pc, what-ev. WHAT we write is not always what we are. I write horror and thriller/espionage, mostly. That does not mean I go kill people in my spare time or become Ethan Hawk. It just hits my head, I write it...bam. Story. If you havent noticed, I also just wrote a childrens book. I would have put pics in it, but Im too lazy for that. Yes, cynical, anal-ridden person who claims to be a Christian...I am a Christian. I am not one because I go to church, tithe, donate for others to see (hello....Pharisee, anyone?) I am because He chose me to be one. Good on me. Now, if you think what a writer writes is them, youre an idiot. If this were not so, Stephen King would be serving a shit-load of time right now. So, moving on....Where to draw the line. Im pretty liberal, and judging by many of the books I have edited, so are a lot of others...lol. However, Its a personal preference taste that I believe, should remain, tasteful, for lack of a better term. Here are mine: No pedophilia, no racial hate, no propaganda. I just find it not only distasteful, but too out of my comfort zone. I hope this lil post helped. Feel free to add. My page is open to everyone. Cheers~
