WRR recently received a phone call from a concerned citizen about a fawn who had become stuck in a fence near his residence in San Antonio. A WRR Rescue Volunteer was called to go rescue this young deer. When he arrived, he immediately noticed that mother was nearby, keeping an eye on her fawn. The mother watched as the Volunteer and the concerned citizen worked to free the fawn from the fence. They were able to do so quickly. The young deer was able to run back to her mother without any injuries and almost immediately began nursing. Below are some pictures of the rescue. WRR is very fortunate to have such committed volunteers who are able to go out and rescue injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife.
