WTF? This falls under the same bullcrap as support our troops. We can spend ridiculous amounts of money appropriated as a defense budget, that actually goes toward civilian contractors, but taking care of those who have risked their lives is unthinkable. Its bad enough that veterans benefits are slashed on such a regular basis, but we are also allowing people who risk their lives, and the lives of their families to protect our troops to suffer so? Look, we need a strong military, and we need a good reputation to go with that. Our defense budget is greater than that of the next nine largest militaries combined but that is a deceiving figure. Why do you think civilian organizations were formed simply to purchase body armor for our troops during the Iraq war? How is that huge defense budget working out when our troops cant even get the most basic equipment needed to do their jobs? And now, what will happen during the next major conflict when we are in desperate need of locals to help our troops survive? Why should they risk their lives when we demonstrate that we do not care what happens to these people when the dust settles? Stay classy congress...
