WTO: one time notes: world trade organisation - a2zexamsinfo/ 1995 before that it called as GATT ( general agreement on traffic and trade) from 1948. After done by 60 conference the name changes 1995. Objective : intend to supervision and liberalizing international trade. To reduce trade barriers b/w the country. Head quarters : Geneva president : Roberto Azevedo ( Brazil) from2013. It covers : agri, cotton, least developed country. Main parts: 1) the agreements established by WTO. 2) goods and investment - the multilateral agreement on trade in goods including GATT and the Trade Related Investment Measures ( TRIMs - rules that restrict preference of domestic firms and enable international firms to operate more easily with other country like allow FDI) 3) general agreement on trade service ( GATS ) 4) TRIPs( trade related aspect of intellectual properties - introduce IPs in trading country ) 5) dispute settlements. 6) review govt trade policy most recent issue : TFA (trade facilitation agreement ) done by bali agreement that means increasing transparency , reduce customes, transaction charges & uniform and easy procedure of customs. ( note : India suffers TFA)
