WURAOLA. FOR TAIWO ADETIMOLE Wuraola, You are my poem tonight. Writing for you Is like opening another chapter of a love story. We stand at the gates of cross-hearts Like pilgrims on the path to the home Where words are worth dying for, Like a fish missing the cool of a river We long for warmth. Like a cold candle of solitude Dying for the company of heat We crave for touches In the dark; when cold perches On our mundane skins like a bird twitting on a tree. Wuraola, You are my poem tonight. Writing for you Is like telling tales of love to children unborn. Tonight has come with the need To retrace memories to the city Of fainted hopes, the town where subtle minds Rule our fates like ruler on a slate, Tonight, i remember the beauty that shone Like the glistering grace of a glowing moon On a gentle night with discording screams, Tonight, I remember the words she spoke; “Follow me to the garden of growing love” Wuraola, there I was Letting love lead! I remember when i traced the pedigree of silence To a burning bush of blistering broth: LOVE You surfaced when I hailed the name of anguish While nursing the broken piece of my shattered heart Like the remains of a splintered glass. Wuraola, They say that brevity defines sweeter poetry But permit me to break few regulations tonight While i sit at the sand of memory beside the shore of unending trust Writing your name in the shingles of fame. I am no more a solitary poet With a broken voice or a drenched pitch, I know how to spell love: W-U-R-A-O-L-A © tohquality #AdukeCollection
