WUZUP WITCHA RAMCITY!!! We are less than 24 hours away from the 2014 regular finale as the Provine Rams (6-4, 3-3) host the Brandon Bulldogs (9-1, 6-0) tomorrow night at Hughes Field. Surely would love to close the season out with a win and send this years senior football players, cheerleader and bandmembers out with a bang. Hope to see the stands filled with RED & GRAY. Spread the word to those who arent able to attend, that you can hear yours truly with the call of the Provine/Brandon game on WFQY-FM, B-DAY 99.1 in Jackson, MS; along with the Tune-In app. SN: After a 22-year career that began in 1992, tomorrow night will be the very last game that I will broadcast on the air. I am stepping out of the broadcasting business to devote the rest of my life to serving God in the way that he has for me to serve him. I can truly say that Ive enjoyed calling games (football, basketball & baseball) for some awesome schools and fans in Lincoln County (Brookhaven, Bogue Chitto, Enterprise, Loyd Star, West Lincoln & Brookhaven Academy), Lawrence County, McComb and to close out my career at my alma mater Provine is truly icing on the cake. Ive worked with some great people across the years and I wanted to thank Russell Brashear, Derrel Palmer, Rw Hamilton, Ken Hollingsworth, Carry Meitzler, Barry Harper, Jay White and any other broadcasters that I have met over the years. Thanks to ALL of you for what you did for me doing the past 22 years. Now in my last game, theres one that I hope to get to call some of the Provine/Brandon game with and I just know that he wont let me down. Hes reading this now and Ill see you on tomorrow night. To ALL of the coaches that Ive worked with keeping stats, driving the team bus (and he better not mention the Birmingham red light incident ever again.........LOL) or just helping out where needed.....Thanks to you too; especially 2 of the best friends a guy could ever and have managed to outlast me in this business.........my favorite high school basketball coach Preston Wilson and my favorite high school baseball coach Randy Spring, who for some reason love Brookhaven........LOL. A special RAMCITY shoutout going to Coach Willie Collins, Coach Stanley Blackmon, Coach Otis Riddley, all of the RamCity coaches Ive met over the past 3 years (Otis Otis Gaines II and Erica Stringfellow Smith) and 2 of the best teammates a guy could ever have Chris Randle & Ira Johnson..............will never forget the chicken dinners, coaches meetings and chewing the fat stories. I wont be going away from the game, just admiring in from a distance as God moves me in this new direction. Keep me in your prayers and Ill do the same for you all as well. Now may the peace of God, which surpasses ALL understanding keep your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.
