WWDC 2013: Apple announces iOS 7, a whole new look and way to use your iPhone Calling it the biggest change to the iPhone since the launch of the iPhone, Apple today unveiled the highly anticipated iOS7. Not only does the whole thing have a new, sleek, minimalistic look, but all kinds of functions have been added, borrowed, improved or modified to improve the iOS experience. So far, iOS 7 seems to be polarizing… some people love it, some people really aren’t happy, but things change. The design of iOS hasn’t change much at all since it first came out and the functionality has only changed little by little over time. Apple came out with iOS, the Google ripped off the interface for Android and then Google, Microsoft and Palm refined the design of a smartphone OS while Apple was sitting on its hands. So yes, it does look like the latest version of Android with some Windows Metro styling thrown in, but that’s a good thing. Design goes in cycles like that and it should keep looking up to date. But there’s more than just new looks to iOS 7. There’s a ton of new bells and whistles that make getting to the stuff you want easier to get to. Everything from the lock screen to the backgrounds to the notification center and control panel have been completely rethought. theverge/2013/6/10/4407630/apple-announces-ios-7
