WWHS ’64 Memories - Folk Music - If I Had A Hammer, Pete Seeger, 1956. Pete Seeger, who died earlier this year at the age of 94, was a legendary song writer, folk singer, and peace activist. In addition to this song, Pete Seeger also wrote, among others, Turn! Turn! Turn! and Where Have All The Flowers Gone. A few of Pete Seegers awards include induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1972, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993, Kennedy Center Honoree in 1994, and induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
