WWHS ’64 Memories - Folk Music - Where Have All The Flowers Gone - TopicsExpress

WWHS ’64 Memories - Folk Music - Where Have All The Flowers Gone (Pete Seeger and Joe Hickerson), The Kingston Trio, 1961. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful, thought provoking, and timeless songs any of us will ever hear in our lifetime. I dont know what more can be said. - The Kingston Trio were easily the most popular artists of the American folk revival era. They did more to popularize folk music than any other artist(s) and paved the way for the many other folk and folk-rock artists that followed. The Kingston Trio had a total of fourteen albums ranked in Billboards Top Ten and the group still ranks after half a century in the all-time lists of many of Billboards cumulative charts, including those for most weeks with a number 1 album, most total weeks charting an album, most number 1 albums, most consecutive number 1 albums, and most top ten albums. - This is the last Kingston Trio post. Ill be finishing up with folk music on Wednesday and move on to 1966 (probably) next Monday.
