Waddington 1-2 Green barrel FC Stephen Crowther in goal with the back line of Nathan Means Ryan smith Nathan ranyard and the expeiranced Colin Clark. Midfield was Kyle fletcher left wing with Adam Holman Keiran Fox and Jamie Corby right wing with Kevin Clark and Andrew Wheatley up top. Damon Joiner Graham Clark and stuart on the bench, Green barrel arrived at waddington with the intention of putting in a good performance as last year they did the double over us last seaon, And Green barrel started the better team, with some good passing of the ball on a wet and windy day. kyle fletcher getting the better of the waddington right winger time and time again. Jamie corby went for the more direct approach and danced his way around the waddington team from the right wing and when he arrived in the waddington goal area decided that his left foot didnt want to know so cut back on to his right foot and loose the ball. kevin clarke found himself with the best chance of the game so far when a ball played across the goal mouth only for him to kick the ball over the bar with the goal wide open. Green barrels defence looked solid and were rewarded when keiran fox struck the ball from 22 and a half yards out and with a very minor deflection found its way into the bottom corner. Green barrel went into half time 1-0. The second half was a different story as green barrel lost there way, the passing was poor and giving the ball away to much, captain nathan ranyard demanded better, And a good build up play was rewarded when a ball across the are found its way to kevin clark only for it to hit his chest and miss his second sitter of the game. wasting chances has become the downfall off green barrel and waddington started to press looking for a goal and found a reply when the poorest player on the pitch lobbed stephen crowther and made it 1-1. Green barrel started to press and when jamie corby made the touch line fizzed the ball into the area only for graham clark to get his legs in a tangle and miss the ball altogether. Colin clark had a chance but missed the target from a shot out of the area. With green barrel pressing for a winner and looking to the strikers for a goal andy wheatley wasnt messing about when he found the ball at his feet around 15 yards out and waddington players infront of him, toe poked the ball into the bottom corner and made it 2-1. Waddington then started to look shakey and green barrels damo joiner coming on making runs in a messi like style couldnt dig out a shot. A mix up with keiran fox and kyle fletcher with a free kick ended up with waddington breaking forward in numbers and finding a cross with a penalty box full of players ryan smith took control to clear the ball but with a big push in the back he decided to punch to ball clear and recieve a red card. With 1 minute left and waddington having a free kick stephen crowther made a fantastic save to keep the score 2-1.
