Wado much to Wild Woman Sisterhood and Jeff Brown for this. I feel the same way. I would much rather someone tell me their woes and see if I can help then to wear a fake smile. We demand too often that people hide their emotions and why do we do that? Because we are an unfeeling society who doesnt like to be inconvenienced with anothers problems. That is from selfishness. Be who you are. If you are happy and feel like smiling; then do so. If you are sad and feeling like frowning; then do so. If you care about someone who is sad then make it about them and not you..... be a kind ear instead of an inconsiderate ego.
