Waffle House should have returned the large tips to the customers as company policy dictates AND reimbursed these waitresses for the large tip they are forcing them to return. Imagine the PR Plus they would have gotten if they had done so. For a measly $1,500 they would have gotten a ton of positive press, instead they chose to look like the bad guys. Good Job Waffle House. As an aside, we need to do away with the tipping system altogether. Pay the servers an actual wage. Sure the prices of meals will go up but we are already paying more anyway because we are tipping. At least the servers will have a steady income rather than relying on the kindness of strangers.
