Waii Wah Tsimshians!! This is a clear case of TRESPASSING on native Tsimshian/Gitgiis territory, and a case of nonconsultation with the rightful owners. So I ask you the Tsimshian people, both elders + the youngest generation, what are you going to do about this nonrespect?? And what is the band concil + the chief counsellor/mayor doing, is there no information to pass onto the tribal members who voted you in? Was it not proclaimed by prince Charles a heritage park(protected sanctuary) or something like that?? Why is it possible for these types of people and companies to come in and do what they want on our territories? Can you the Lax Kw Alaams band of over 3000 people answer this, is there a general meeting, can it be set up so all can hear + provide their input about the issues described? What is your excuse for not speaking up and protesting this aggressive move by big companies. Then later on down the road cry and complain, when all is said and done, are we really the sleeping giants, who will never wake up, until it is really too late, and Txamsen is walking the earth again. I am just one voice way over here in Europe, but I do this and write about it because I care about what happens in our territories and I care about what will be left for our grandchildren. We are already borrowing from them, never mind borrowing from our children. When I heard in our meetings when I was just a young child/man, I heard the elders speak with their hearts, and heard that if there was nothing to be done about the issues brought up, we would be just a "bunch of dam fools". We have better education, more advanced technology with internet, graduates and people who have gone to universities. Why do not the chiefs stand up and support the Gitgiis tribe, put it all over media, get a petition going in the village and all sign it, present to our band council? Submit a complaint/inquiry to the Tsimshian tribal office demanding that they also voice a complaint, and also a petition for all off reserve member? Remember that all the animals + everything alive on our terrtories, need a voice, and we the Tsimshian are their voice to represent and respect their right to live on this earth. The time is NOW! and if not, then it will be never, can you face the next young generation and explain, why you never did it for them?? What happened to all our warriors, are we just concerned about our internal conflicts and our basic life argument between family and friends?? Get up people, it is time, never mind the internet games, never mind ultimate fighting, never mind casinos, fight for a real cause, invest your time and efforts in fighting for what truely belongs to the Tsimshian nation, we are one with the earth. My grandchildren from Janesta are the lineage of Annie Johnson, they are Gitsii, I know this tribe as a very strong people, and the robin women can show their strength. Please support and voice your rights. I thank you for your time in addressing this very vital issue, and would like to hear and see your opinions on a matter that needs to be addressed ASAP.
