Waiting, waiting, waiting for someone to give you permission to be - TopicsExpress

Waiting, waiting, waiting for someone to give you permission to be you. We often create false restrictions in our lives that limit our ability to become who we were meant to be. The strongest of these restrictions we impose upon ourselves is waiting for someone we consider stronger, such as a parent, mentor or significant other, to give us permission to take that risk, go after that career opportunity or simply quit the job we hate and go after our true dreams. Waiting for others to set us free can quickly move from weeks, to years, and then to decades, and eventually we realize we have been trapped forever waiting for someone to open the cage that became our life. The day you realize you own the only key to your own life will be the best day of your life. This time of year is often about seeking change for the new year and that change can only happen when you understand that no one can set you free but yourself.
