Wake up to a beautiful new day my friends. Before i give updates i want to Thank all of you for your prayers, texts, calls, and positive energy. I love you all and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Now........drum roll......the update. The nurse and I were able to get Blake up and out of bed about an hour ago. We got him got cleaned up finally. He was still dirty and bloody and now he is clean. He got fresh linens on his bed. He brushed his teeth. He even gave us a little smile. Around 3 am Blake ate some chocolate pudding and had some sprite. It is very difficult for Blake to eat or talk. There was some damage to his throat and nose when EMTs were trying to insert vent tube. We are expecting a Dr visit at some point this morning. After that I should be able to update more regarding his kidney and liver function. He does not appear to have any brain damage at this point. From what I understand..... Blakes organs were all shutting down when he first arrived at the hospital. The Drs explained to me that because Blake was physically fit he was able to survive this. We are still dealing with dehydration issues and IVs are still in place. He also has fever and is still on antibiotics to help with infection in his lungs but he is in stable condition. He is still suffering from a massive headache that wont subside.....perhaps today he will get some relief. Maybe we will get out of ICU today which will be awesome! Last night was crazy. Lots of drama in ICU. At 3am the nurses let us close our glass doors and turn off lights so we could both sleep. Since Blake is unable to speak much or loudly I handed him some little peanut butter cups and told him to just throw them at me to wake me up if he needed me. Ha!!!!! We both slept a few hours. A gentlemen who was in ER at same time as Blake and next to us in ICU passed away during the night. His name was Greg. I have been visiting and praying with his family throughout this ordeal. He was just a little older than Blake. Ohhhhh how I Thanked God that my Blake is still with me. We are not completely out of the woods yet but we are gettin there. Blake is a very good low maintenance patient. I should know more in a few hours and will post another update.
