Waking up to see whats going on in Hong Kong in Social Media is a spooky reminder. The protesters demanding democracy, the tear gas, the police force, the profile picture of a symbol which represents your cause/your side and seeing friends being divided in reaction to posts and comments. The censorship and blatant blocking of news information, the propaganda images, the outrage, the hurt, the injustice, the avid support. What is the world coming to, that people are having to fight to have their basic rights accounted for and acted upon? Like lambs to the slaughter the public are made to fight in the ring, while those few who look upon from their golden towers, waiting for the inevitable, until the drama dies down, at the expense of how many casualties? But there is something happening now, a shift, a revolutionary feeling that is making the everyday echelon of people stronger. Its frightening times, to raise or bring a child into this world, but what world would it be if freedom wasnt worth fighting for? #justathought
