For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. Romans 2:1 ESV The congregation grew silent as the elder finished his speech on judging others. Now in his late seventies, he had stated that everything that he had said he would never ever do, he had now gone back and done. Admittedly, he was considerably ahead of those of us who were still working on it. It took me a long time to learn that what I so hated in others, was often because they were a mirror of what was in me. It amazes me how righteous we can feel while looking down on someone else. Every time I have placed myself above someone elses sin, what they had came to visit my house. Save yourself loads of embarrassment and laps around the mountain by biting your tongue before you say anything bad about what someone else is doing. If you have to correct someone, do it in the kindest possible way. Picture yourself in their shoes because you are capable of the same thing. Jesus loves you so much that He traded His life for yours! :)
