Walking in Abundant Life Part - 8 Mark 4:26-28 - And He said, The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. The people who reach the finish line are those with a right positive attitude in the midst of their worst fears. Proverbs 23:7 says For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. It is rightly said that attitude not aptitude determines ones altitude in life. A negative attitude can destroy the harvest that is in store for you. Understand that your attitude is much deeper than just a few thoughts you might think or not think. Your attitude comes out of the core of your being. Your attitude represents your disposition, your outlook, your very character. Someone may ask how does my attitude become negative; and negative to the Word of God. If we have any problem in life, we tend to focus our mind on that problem paying no heed to the Word of God planted in you. Remember, what you give is what you get. Jesus understood these dynamics and knew that his mission was to preach the gospel to the poor; to heal the broken hearted; recovery of sight to the blind; to set at liberty them that are bruised; and to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Let us take Josephs example from the Bible. When Joseph found favour with the jailor the keeper of the prison committed to Josephs hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing (Genesis 39:21-22). Joseph was not obligated to do this job nor did he want to impress anyone. He did it from his heart. The chief butler who was released from prison and got back his butlership (Genesis 40:21) forgot about Joseph. But, one fine day when the king had a problem the butler remembered Joseph to him (Genesis 41:9-13). In the midst of every trial Joseph kept his focus on the seed and one fine day the seed sprouted and yielded him a bountiful harvest. Take note that, Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, who was in the presence of the king all the time was not used by God to introduce Joseph to the king; but He used the prisoner to get the job done. Many a times we tend to look for an influential person to get our work done. But if we maintain a positive attitude and believe in His promises, He will positively make us reach the destination that we seek for it is written Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him (1Cor 2:9). Reflection: These wounds were meant to purchase me. These drops of blood were shed to obtain me. I am not my own today. I belong to another. I have been bought with a price. And I will live every moment of this day so that the Great Purchaser of my soul will receive the full reward of His suffering.
