Walking with Bailey is out of the question this morning due to lingering spotty showers and sprinkles. I believe that this weather system has been the root of my sinus problems. After a day and a half of taking sinus medicine, my head is feeling much better. Hopefully we will be able to resume our walking tomorrow morning. I was watching the news the other night and one of the stories was about heavy rains on the California coast. There was a lot of flooding and they showed a scene where a multi-million dollar home sliding down from its cliff above the Pacific Ocean. I really dont understand why anyone would build a home so close to the edge of a cliff with their deck extending out over the beach below. It reminds me of the story Jesus told in Luke 6:46-49 about the two different house builders. I want to focus on verse 46, which reads “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? Jesus says that there are people who claim to be Christians but were fakes. They actually say Lord! Lord! They may have even preached sermons, cast out demons and performed miracles but, they were not real Christians. The same is true today as there are many Sunday morning Christians who listen intently to the sermon, sing songs, bow their heads for prayers and give of their money. However, the other six days of the week, they act like they dont even know Jesus. He has told us how to live our lives, but if we do not follow His instruction, we will be like those He talked about. I dont want to be one of those that, one day, Jesus will say to I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!
