Mumbles also being the birthplace of Catherine Zeta-Jones ! Wanganui Aero Club is proud to support No. 12 Tram and carried out a fly past at the time of the first fair paying passengers on Monday 2nd June. John Luff in his fabulous 1956 De Havilland Venom was unable to partake on the day but must have been seen and heard on Sunday commencing his 40 minute dash to Ardmore for the D-Day celebrations. Stu Ashby and Wanganui Aero Club Chief Flying instructor Steve Love in a Cessna 172 lead the V formation with Howard Smith in his Cessna 150 Aerobat and Daren Luff in a Maule. This was followed by Rich Harding with a spectacular flying demonstration in his Tiger Moth. All these aircraft can often been seen flying around Wanganui. Steve is always on hand for you to enquire about flying, show you around the hanger, and tell you about club activities. Even better book a flight with Steve and call 06 345 0914.
