Wanna hear a story about why you shouldnt use CenturyLink? Here we go, see if you can follow this sweet mess. About two weeks ago, I received a call about a sweet deal if I switch (current provider is Cox), I wasnt sure if I really wanted to, so I was told to call before the install date of the 19th if I didnt want to. I called the 17th and told them I wanted to cancel the install and stay with Cox. Guy showed up yesterday, of course while I was working on a client, I explained that I had canceled and he left. No big deal, right? Wrong. A client started texting saying something was wrong with our phone. We could call out, but couldnt receive calls. I called Cox. After about 20 minutes, the problem was discovered. CenturyLink had ported my number to them. I was essentially no longer a Cox customer. After almost an hour on the phone with CenturyLink, arguing that I never signed anything or gave my permission for this, I was told to call Cox to have them port the number back. I called Cox. They cant port a number without written permission...because that shit is illegal....so I had to email a bunch of paperwork. Now my business still doesnt have a phone because CenturyLink still hasnt released my number.
