This: Adonis was halfway through his workout when the phone rang. He wasn’t working out because he had to. He was immortal and never-changing, so all the exercise in the world wasn’t going make him look any more perfect than he already did. The endorphins were nice, though, and besides, it was something to do. The others all had jobs, careers. Purpose of being. Eros had his matchmaking service and Dionysus his bar, while Alastor—the minor god of vengeance—had his PI agency, and spent his days following cheating spouses around. But being the Greek god of beauty and desire didn’t come with a job description. Basically, it seemed like Donnie’s occupation was to stand around and be wanted. And while it was gratifying and all, after a few millennia it got old. :)
