Wanna really mess with someone.. ask them this. Three salesmen check into a hotel with only 1 vacancy, so they split the bill and the room. They are charged 30.00 for the room, so each one chips in $10. Later, the night auditor realizing the earlier desk clerk overcharged for the room, so he hands the bellboy $5.00 in ones, instructing him to take it to the room, and give them a refund. The bellboy, remembering the situation from earlier, and knowing that he cant split 5.00 three equal ways, keeps $2.00 as a tip, (puts it in his shirt pocket) and gives each salesman $1 as a refund. Now if the salesmen originally paid $10 each (X 3 = $30), and now have gotten $1.00 back, they have NOW paid $9.00 each. 3 X 9.00 = 27.00, the bellboy has 2.00 (in his pocket) for a total of $29.00! So.... where did the OTHER dollar go?
