Want GREAT news? Check this out....... Forecast for tonight 8/10/2013 Partly cloudy with clearing skies. A slight chance for a shower over higher terrain. Much cooler, moister air will settle in over the region keeping fire activity minimal. Not much smoke to fill the skies in the morning, just some haze. Low clouds and even some pockets of fog will be possible in Douglas County with some low clouds possible as far south as Jackson County. Overnight lows will be in the 50s. Notice what is not there anymore? No thunderstorms ANYWHERE! Very stable air is pushing in and this is going to shut the thunderstorms down. ALL Red Flag Warnings for our region were dropped at 7 pm. Fire fighters on ALL fires are going to catch a huge break tonight. Fire activity if there is ANY will be very minimal. Now the rain that fell will make it tough to do burn outs, but where they can make direct attack, this might be one of the best nights if not THE best night they have had since the fires started.
