Want to come with me to a dinner/event with me, Rick Rubin & Russell Simmons? Yes…the same Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons from Def Jam records. Well…I just got invited to a super cool dinner/event to award Rick Rubin. He’s a super awesome music producer and co-founder of Def Jam and he’s being honored for all his work being done to spread meditation. This guy has worked with legends like Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Run DMC, Public Enemy, Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye, Jay-Z, Tom Petty, and the list goes on and on and on. Anyway…I have 2 extra tickets for anyone who wants to join (pending I really know who you are) and you’ll get the following: A ticket to the Rick Rubin dinner and benefit concert sitting at my table A ticket to the pre-gala reception A ticket to the after-party A free Transcendental Meditation training (this normally costs $2k!) Recognition as a sponsor in the award celebration program Private introductions to some of the celebrities that will be there It’s an award dinner and benefit concert to teach 10,000 at-risk youths to meditate. The cost? $2,000. I know…pretty high... I’m not doing this to make money nor do I get paid from it. I’m donating to this cause to help at-risk youths! Why? Because since introducing meditation in schools there has been an: 86% reduction in suspensions over two years 40% reduction in psychological distress, including stress, anxiety and depression 65% decrease in violent conflict over two years 10% improvement in test scores—and a narrowing of the achievement gap Highly effective for increasing creativity Improved teacher retention and reduced teacher burnout Greater happiness, focus and self-confidence Those are some pretty INSANE results. Oh yeah - did I mention there will be some performances that night and they are: Dixie Chicks Damien Rice Jake Bugg (and a surprise guest) Some other notables that will be joining are David Lynch, John Hagelin and Russell Simmons. It’s been known that Jim Carrey, Ellen Degeneres, Jerry Seinfeld, and others sometimes “drop by” these events too. :) Totally amazing to see celebrities lining up to raise money for meditation!
