Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3) is a research study being conducted by the American Cancer Society that will help us create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. By joining CPS-3, you can help us understand how to prevent the disease, which will save lives and give people more time with their families and friends, more memories, more celebrations … and more birthdays. If you are willing to make a long-term commitment to the study, are ages 30-65, and have never personally been diagnosed with cancer (excluding basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer), you are eligible to enroll. At the enrollment location you will be asked to read and sign an informed consent form, complete a brief survey, provide a waist measurement and a small blood sample (similar to a doctor’s visit). The blood sample will be drawn by a trained, certified phlebotomist. Your appointment should last 20-30 minutes. Following enrollment, you will receive mailed surveys at home every few years for the next 20-30 years to update your information. If you are unable to enroll, spread the word to everyone you know and encourage them to enroll in your honor. Your personal information is protected and kept confidential.
