Want to help orphaned cats? I recently found a way to donate to VOKRA - Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association without really spending anything extra. They sell gift cards for dozens of stores and businesses (groceries, gas, household stuff, etc) which you can use for your regular shopping, and the businesses donate a percentage of the gift card amount to VOKRA. The lowest denomination is $10, so if you have that amount (or more) on hand before youre ready to do your next grocery run, you can buy the gift card from VOKRA first, then when it arrives you have the full $10 to spend on your shopping. They accept gift card orders on an ongoing basis, and mail them out twice a month. It does take a bit of planning in advance/cash on hand, but if it works for your schedule/budget, then it can be a fairly easy way to support an organization whose volunteers work hard to look after cats who have been abandoned (and are often ill or injured) and are in need of homes. orphankittenrescue/giftcards
