Want to know more about Japanese Beef? Channel Japan lets you in on the different promotions on wagyu around the world! WBS is a popular economics program produced by TV Tokyo. Japans National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations recently opened its first directly-operated restaurant, Shiki Beverly Hills, in Los Angeles, California. The aim is to promote high-end wagyu to affluent consumers. Until now, most Japanese beef exported to the United States consisted of sirloin and tenderloin cuts. Through its new outlet, the federation hopes to introduce different cuts and ways of eating beef. A seminar was also recently held in Hong Kong to get more people to know about Japanese beef and preparation methods. We report on the latest moves to promote Japanese beef and food culture around the world.
