Want to know the reason why you are a Business Owner and yet youre struggling? It is because of 1)____________ and 2) ________________ I meet countless business owners each week, via my workshops and consultation sessions. Im utterly shocked at the number of people who are business owners, but are earning incomes of lesser than when they were employees. As a curious person, i cant help but probe each situation deeply, and I think the reason why most business owners are struggling are down to 2 reasons. 1) They go into entrepreneurship to look cool and successful. Yep, true. Many people, when I ask what they do for a living, they tell me grandiose stories of how many staff they have, and give inflated names to their position, like CEO, Managing Director, Chief this-or-that position. Yet, when I probe further, many of these businesses arent actually making money. Lets all ask ourselves this question- Are we in business to improve our lives, or simply to look good to others? 2) The second reason is simple. Most people are REALLY good at what they do, which is perhaps baking, or tutoring, or inventing etc. But what they really are lacking in, is MARKETING and SALES. Marketing and sales is the LIFE-BLOOD and OXYGEN of any business. Nope, doesnt matter how tasty your food is, without marketing, it withers and dies. Nope, doesnt matter how awesome your product it, without selling well, it crumples into a heap and crawls into the corner to die a slow death. Be serious about your business. Better lives through entrepreneurship.
