Want to surf the web and never have to deal with a virus again? There is a way to do it. You do not need anti-viruses, firewalls, or anything like that. You will need an empty CD/DVD though, and you will need to make sure it can only be written to once. With your blank CD/dvd, you write an OS ISO on it. for this we will use Ubuntu. Go to their site, download the version of the iso(s) you want. Since this is for generally use, probably best to get the 32-bit one, since most computers are 32-bit. Turn your CD into a Live Bootable CD. There are programs for that, but basically, you are burning the iso onto the cd/dvd. Now with your new LiveCD/DVD, you can restart the computer with the cd in it, and press the escape key as it restarts, or F10. (this for the most part will get you into the boot menu of your PC before it loads anything, some are different, just look at the bottom of your screen to find this menu, it might be F2, if you are not sure, or it looks complecated, just becareful not to change anything.) For most of them, they will ask where you want to boot from, for this we want to boot from the CD/DVD drive. (Where the LiveCD is.) Lastly, you want to just try without installing. and then you are done. you might have to connect internet, but that is super easy in most systems. But you can not get a virus or anything bad in this state, even if you did it with windows. Now having said this, you can not download anything either. (If you do, then you can get a virus.) And it is a bit slower than if you have it installed. But this is good if you have to use an unsecure network or a friends pc you do not trust. Keeps your info from being stolen!
