Wanted to pass along some sad news.... Les Brown passed away Saturday morning after a bout with cancer. He had come out of surgery earlier on doing well, but had some struggles in the past several weeks ending in hospice. His wife - Sherry - wanted to pass along that he really, really enjoyed serving on the mission field with all of you and with others from the past. Les has been a part of the majority of MTMO trips - including some summer trips. Les was one of our strongest supporters through his generosity and time - making most work days and driving all the way from LaVergne to make it happen. Following Jesus example, Les brought a lot of happiness/improved quality of life to people in Honduras through his efforts and his special ministry of eyeglass distribution. I am sure that those of you who worked with him were also blessed in witnessing his sincere love for the people he ministered to as he always did his best to get things just right. Les also brought dozens of other folks to the mission field with MTMO throughout the years with his infectious enthusiasm. Les will be missed - both here and in Honduras. However, we can be assured hes relaxing comfortably with our Savior right now in Heaven and likely getting to see some of those older folks he helped fit with eyeglasses. Sherry passed along today that there will be a memorial service at Less home church in Murfreesboro: Creekmont General Baptist Church. The address is: 5867 Washington Blvd. * Murfreesboro, TN 37129. The service will start at 11:00 a.m. If you have any special pictures of Les that youd like to share with Sherry, please email those to her at [email protected]. She is putting together a slideshow for the service and would like to get pictures by this Thursday, if possible. Please keep Less family in your prayers.
