Wanted to recap last weekends race results as they are IMPRESSIVE - Endorphin Fitness had 67 kids compete in the Powerkids Triathlon and they did awesome!! In the 5-8 year old race, a big congrats to Presley Evans who took 1st overall! In the 9-15 year old race, EF nearly swept the podium with Hope Frost and Max Currens both taking 1st overall, Mitchell Gillem and Olivia Walker taking 3rd overall, Pace Palmer 4th overall, and Coleson Lindsey and Marissa Ruotolo 5th overall. Here is the breakdown of age group wins across both races: 1st - Kelsey Mallas, Hope Frost, Presley Evans, Mitchell Gillem, Eve Frost, Maddie Fisher, Sophie Cohen, Jack Neese, Max Currens 2nd - Carter Palmer, Chloe Paget-Brown, Ellie-Paige Lynch, Marissa Ruotolo, Patrick Harlow, Tate Frost, Coleson Lindsey 3rd - Lucy Nunciata, Olivia Walker, Ian Henderson, Hudson Neese, Ben Poling, Pace Palmer Also, congrats to the following who had strong races (place in parenthesis): Louisa Mills (5), Hazel Wells (9), Henley Mills (9), Isabella Lindsey (18), Sadie Goldberg (16), Marah Whitman (7), Kaysen Mills (8), Caroline Osenga (14), Mollye Goldberg (16), Chayce Currens (21), Catherine Horner (9), Pari Nanavaty (24), Abby Hinton (25), Foram Nanavaty (7), Caleb Harlow (15), Cannen Harlow (16), Chandler Evans (19), Jacob Lewis (4), Andrew Bernhardt (9), Brady Burke (12), Gabe Palmer (6), Parker Burke (10), Ethan Fraser (13), Michael Poole (24), Lucas Whitman (5), Mason Goss (12), Jonathan Stallings (30), Emily Hinton (23), Costen Anderson (38), Emma Ditman (19), David Carey (10), Christopher Carey (13), Kiera Mallas (12), Lily Ditman (17), Emma Stallings (18), Jamie Maples (13), Dawson Poteat (19), and Gabe Nunciata (7). A great day for EF as well at The Powersprint Triathlon. Drew Olsen, Avery Gillem, John Clarke, and Mike Krongaard won their age groups! Ricardo Solis, Lenora Mariner, and Grace Lancaster were second in their age groups, as was Cheryl Shaw in her return to triathlon racing! Kaitlyn Yasnowski had an amazing race taking 3rd in her age group. Joe Bednar, Andy Moser, and Matt Kwarta all had strong performances in their competitive age group, and all were knocking on the door of the 1-hour barrier. Nate Janocka was just behind them. Joe Henderson, Emily Heyworth, Joel Legaspi, Angge Legaspi, Ed Olsen, Leah Gillespie, Matt Leech, Lilo Navales, and Kristie Olsen also had strong races! Rob Woods took 3rd overall and set a new PR at the Marine Corps Marathon 10k this weekend. Nick Woods took 8th overall right behind his dad and mom Karen had a super strong race finishing very close to a PR! Mark Bare also raced the 10k taking 2nd in his age group with a solid race. Kelly Hadiaris took 3rd in her age group and 12th overall at the competitive Maritime Olympic Distance Triathlon. EF athletes traveled down to Alabama for the XTerra Southeast Championships with some great results. Greg Schott won his age group, was 6th amateur, 20th overall with a very strong pro field, and won a slot to Maui for the World Champs. Audrey Kane had a great race, bettering last years performance and posting huge improvements on the swim and run. John Gardner had a solid swim, but suffered a broken collarbone in a wreck on the bike (hes otherwise OK...wish him a speedy recovery!) Congrats to Helen Poole and Sade Smith who went 2nd and 3rd overall at the Meadows Crit Saturday and Parker Spencer took 5th in the Cat 5 race at the Richmond Road Race Sunday. EF athletes had a great day of racing at Rev 3 Knoxville. EF pro Joseph Anderson had a strong race finishing 17th overall. In the Olympic distance race, Samone Franzese led the way, finishing as second overall female and posting the days fastest run split. She was 10th overall including the guys !Andy Jones, Jonathan Johnson, Betsy Johnson, Elyse Gallegos, and Kelly Mann all recorded age group podium finishes, and Charles Payne was a strong 9th in his very competitive age group! Jay Markiewicz had his age group WON by nearly four minutes, until a penalty dropped him to 2nd. Cort Kirkley and Charlene Wilhelm also recorded second-place finishes, beaten only by the defending USAT national champions in their respective age groups. Tina Shiver capped off a great day of racing for EF, finishing third in her age group! EF athletes had some great performances at Dominion River Rock events over the weekend! In the always-competitive James River Scramble 10k, Julie Patterson JUST missed out on the win, taking home a close second (and some cash) in the womens division. Alex Murdock made a strong return to MTB racing, and Emily Bashton won the womens expert division in the Urban Assault. Juniors Matthew Piper, Callie Hammer, and Gabe Morgan raced the Filthy 5k and had a great time with Gabe taking 2nd overall! Lindsay Beckner and Denny King kicked off a busy weekend of racing with great performances at the USA Triathlon Duathlon National Championship! Lindsay finished a strong 6th in her age group, and Denny had a great race (in his longest race to date!)
