Wanted to say thanks to my opponent for doing what he said he was - TopicsExpress

Wanted to say thanks to my opponent for doing what he said he was going to do and showing up to fight. A lot of people dont understand what fighters go through in those regards. Fighting isnt basketball. The nature of the sport doesnt allow us to compete every week. We often train for months to prepare for a fight, and many fighters tailor their training around a specific opponent. You spend weeks visualizing fighting your opponent. You visualizing winning. You visualizing losing. You dream about it. You feel intensely confident. You feel scared that youre going to be humiliated in front of friends and family. Then, after all the hard work and all the emotions, your opponent doesnt show up or backs out of the fight. All that work for nothing. You sold tickets to your friends and family, who bought them SPECIFICALLY to watch you fight, and now you have to tell them that they wasted their money because you arent fighting and you cant refund their money. Its incredibly stressful. Sometimes we get replacement opponents, but its bittersweet and not the same. So, thanks!
