Warm and dry conditions prevail over the Ozarks this afternoon. No real changes are expected in our forecast for Wednesday so another hot, dry windy day is in store. The morning will start off with a few clouds and lows in the lower 70s. Mostly sunny and dry weather is set for the afternoon with highs in the upper 80s. Come join the KY3 news team as we Celebrate the Ozarks at McCauley Park in Nixa and on the square in Ozark. I will be at Finley River park by the old iron bridge for those that want to talk weather. The upper level ridge begins to break down on Thursday and our chances for scattered storms increase. Isolated to scattered storms are possible both Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will remain the same with lows around 70 and highs in the upper 80s. A few storms cannot be ruled out over the weekend but look to be the exception rather than the rule. Highs could bump up to around 90 with the increase in sunshine. Rain then returns for much of next week as the jet stream once again becomes active. This should be the case as June begins to wind up and we enter July. I have not seen anything on the long range charts that indicates we will have a hot dry summer. Speaking of summer it officially begins this coming Saturday at 4:51 am CDT.
