Warm and windy conditions greeted us for tennis on Saturday with Walpeup hosting a home game against Boonoonar, while United did battle with Mittyack in Ouyen. Walpeup who were undefeated going into the match were looked vulnerable with several players unavailable, and Boonoonar coming off the Bye. While the United and Mittyack match was a battle between the bottom 2 teams. In the match at Walpeup it was a good battle in both the mens and ladys section. Walpeup won both by 1 game apiece giving them a slender 2 game lead going into the mixed. Boonoonar stamped their authority on the match by winning the mixed by 17 games giving them victory by a total of 15 games. Four set winners for the day were Bailey Pengally and Liam Munro of Boonoonar, while Mick Pole won his 4 sets for Walpeup. The match at Ouyen was an important match with Mittyack still searching for their first win to keep there finals hopes alive. United came out strong in the mens winning that by 15 games. The Mittyack ladys fought back winning their section by 5 games making the difference 10 games heading into the mixed. United managed to increase the margin to 14 games by winning the mixed by 4 games. Four set winners from this match were Xavier Healy and Tom Patching both playing for United. Scores Boonoonar 12 sets 96 games def Walpeup 8 sets 81 games United 13 sets 96 games def Mittyack 7 sets 82 games This week it is once again Saturday afternoon matches with both games in Ouyen. Kia play Walpeup, Mittyack are the home team against Boonoonar. United have the bye.
