Warm thanks to all who attended the Societys 33rd Annual General Meeting, which took place in the Penthouse at New Zealand House on Saturday, 24th May. Special thanks to: 1. HE Winnie Kiap, High Commissioner for Papua New Guinea, pictured receiving a token of PISUKIs appreciation not only for her thoughtful keynote address, but also for her great support to the Society on many occasions since arriving in UK. The presentation was made by Christian Clerk, who was elected Chairman, in succession to Chris Luxton. A former Chairman (1999‑2002), Dr Clerk first did anthropological research in the Cook Islands, and currently works for the Open University. 2. Tokaniman Finikaso, Kiribati Tungaru Association (KTA) Dance Organiser for her graceful and professional performance; and 3. Rotee Walsh, KTA Dancer Co-ordinator, who gave a wonderfully spirited rendition, also much appreciated! 4. Manfred Assmann, President of the Germany Pacific Society for his considered input. [Warm thanks, too, to so many on Council who helped in various ways - our wonderful caterers, bar persons, raffle ticket seller, and helpers in general, Sue and David Evans, Rex Davis, Vernon Scarborough, Bojana Barltrop, Margaret Taylor, and to all who brought extra food and raffle prizes, and those who stayed behind to clear up! Full photo album follows asap.] Pictures: Chris Luxton.
