Warners THE SHOW OF SHOWS (1929) was originally shot entirely in early Technicolor, but largely survives only in a blurry black & white dupe made for early television (as seen here). News comes from England of the discovery of the whole of the reel shown here, in a pristine and sharp 35mm Technicolor print, which has been sent to George Eastman House for restoration. The film was a talkie showcase for many silent stars never heard previously by their audiences. From 1929: Richard Barthelmess introduces the Meet My Sister number. This includes Sally Blane, Loretta Young, Dolores Costello, Helene Costello, Viola Dana, Shirley Mason, Ada Mae Vaughn, Alberta Vaughn, Armida Vedrill, Lola Vedrill, Alice Day, Marcilene Day, Sally ONeil, Molly ODay, Marion Byron, Harriett (Lake) Byron (Ann Sothern) . All are real sisters except for Marion Byron and Ann Sothern. FYI: Dolores Costello is Drew Barrymores grandmother: youtube/watch?v=rMNOXXPRD8E
