Warning - Not Suitable for Work- contains full body nudity Why are so many of us alienated from our bodies? Why do we struggle to love the size and shape we are? Why do we feel disconnected from something so fundamental to our selves as our bodies? I suspect one of the key reasons is hierarchy. We rank ourselves in terms of better or worse, and most of us feel we fall onto the worst end of that scale. A second key reason is patriarchy - a system that treats womens bodies as consumer objects and makes mens bodies a threat to everyone. What happens when those forces of hierarchy and objectification are challenged? Can we envisage a society in which we learn to love the skin were in and in which no persons body is either an object to be controlled or a threat to anyone else?
