Warning: Caleb rant. Running a very successful, purpose led business in our HIGHLY opinionated world is TOUGH. Why? When I started my organization, no one told me that half of my energy would be spent actually building and leading it and the other half, or even more, would be spent protecting and defending it against all of the things that other people wanted it to be. It takes a ferocious amount of spinal fortitude to not end up making a crappy mix of your vision and endless bits and scraps from others who didnt have the cojones to start something themselves. Wow. I can relate to this with my coaching business! Ive lost track of how many times people have thrown bits and scraps in my face, telling me how things are supposed to work, why what Im doing wont work, how to get a real job, or why my huge goals and dreams as a Beachbody Coach...just...arent...possible. Heres the encouraging thing- Ive already had to recreate or update many of my goals because I DID reach them! In just a couple months of being a work from home business owner noob, Ive learned that if you want to accomplish something greater, something abnormal, something truly amazing with the precious life God gave you here on earth, you need to follow through by RESPECTFULLY IGNORING the shallow influences coming from those accomplishing only mediocre things with their time. Furthermore, you need to get over the need in your mind to keep everyone happy, because when you do dodge worthless opinions and move on to succeed anyways, the people you respectfully ignored often get their feelings hurt when they realize their lack of control over you. Are YOU putting your faith in what the world SCREAMS into your ears, or what Jesus whispers into your heart? In the end, its not about what the world wants you to do, its about accomplishing the incredible things God planted in your heart to do.
