Warning: Im about to rant. In the future when people are being educated on history, Im pretty convinced that well be looked at the same way we look at the medeival ages or the early industrial age. Points in history where society was significantly less learned and unknowingly ignorant. Except we are VERY learned and are NOT ignorant anymore. Yes little Billy, people back then actually DID believe that relying on a finite and heavily toxic resource wasnt complete and utter lunacy. Yes little Billy, people DID believe that the behavior of a miniscule percentage of a group of people represented the overwhelmingly larger percentage of said group. Yes little Billy, when people gained access to the tool that provided instant access to virtually all of human knowledge, they used the tool to look at photos of cats with deliberately misspelled words (because when cats speak, these spoken words are obviously misspelled). And on a side note, is it just me or do most of the people running the world seem like the type of uncomfortable people who are ashamed of the fact that they shit? End rant.
