Warning! Personal opinion/rant alert: I am not a Kool-Aid drinker nor am I politically motivated in anyway. But I have been in Katy ISD for 15 years and my kids have benefited from an incredible education and opportunities in scholastics, the arts, and athletics. These opportunities have been provided to them by forward thinking teachers, administrators, and public servants in our school system. Many of these opportunities have been funded by bonds that have been put before the people to approve. For those of you who continue to oppose the bond in Katy ISD, know this, it is thinking like yours that has put multiple T shacks at schools, because we couldnt build other schools when you took your political prowess and used it to hurt our children by voting against allocation of funds. Your efforts to defeat bonds have also placed our kids in stadiums three and four nights a week instead of one night a week. If it were not for the bonds we would not have the technology we have, the facilities that we have, nor the continued opportunities for our children. There is no bond that is perfect, but the continual argument against the bonds of Katy ISD are getting old. We must continue to move forward and be progressive in the way that we look at the totality of education. So please, quit drinking from late altogether from either side and be informed and vote appropriately. Do not hinder our children from expanding their education and other such opportunities at all. And for those with whom this sits negatively, I hope that we can agree to disagree and move forward in a positive manner.
