Warning: Political junkie post :-) I was reading the new budget bill that just passed to see what wasnt reported. Came across this odd entry with not much description: SEC. 123. Section 3(a)(6) of Public Law 100–676 is amended by striking both occurrences of ‘‘$775,000,000’’ and inserting in lieu thereof, ‘‘$2,918,000,000’’ Thats a lot of money in this keep-the-sequester-going-to-save-money budget bill. What is it? It’s a dam project along the Ohio River, in Kentucky. It just happens to be in Mitch McConnells district. I dont much care whether we fund a dam there or not, but then I didnt just shut down the government to avoid a budget that increases our debt. I just think that Mitch should be more open about just how pushing three billion dollars into a project in his backyard is fiscally responsible... Oh, but since we cut billions from food stamps, we can afford this spending. The hungry kids will be happy to hear that Mitchs buddies will be getting a big chunk of change this year!
