Warning Signs - Argus, male in the main pack at Wolf Hollow in Ipswich, MA. Did you know that wolves can give up to 12 warning signs telling you something is wrong/you are behaving in a way that is not acceptable? Warnings signs can be as simple as raising hackles (fur on the neck/shoulders), raising their tail high (showing dominance/confidence and strength in their rank over another) or opening their eyes wide and pulling their lips back to show their fangs. In this photo, we see the last two demonstrated by Argus who was telling his siblings that the approach on his meal was definitely not appreciated. I feel like later in the spring, many of us have this same expression when we see snow/ice encasing our cars (Spring is not behaving as it should!)! To check out (and like!)
