Warning! There are calls circulating around the area in which a person pretending to represent a bank or loan agency are calling people and telling them they owe money on a late loan payment or a cash advance loan, and if they do not make the payment immediately they will be arrested by the sheriff’s department, or their accounts will be frozen. This is a scam! Do not give any information to these callers hang up and call your financial institution to verify if they tried to contact you. If your financial institution did not call you report the fraud call to the police department at (814) 663-2043 or 1-800-922-1975.
