Warning all travelers!!! Steer completely clear of Spirit Airlines (mainland carrier)! To date, theyre the only carrier I know of that charges $45 for one hand carry on. Then, they charge $40 for the first checked in bag. Then its even more at the airport, you have to do this on-line. At the gate, they charge $100 for a hand-carry! AND.....their internet process is difficult. If you decide to add a bag on after you check in on line, you have to call them so that they can un-check you in order to add the bags. What the heck????? AND......they werent much cheaper to fly on. Only reason I chose them was because the schedule fit a bit better for me. I should have flown Jet Blue or Delta....more reliable service and no ridiculous fees!!! Just sayin!!!
