Warning for wordpress user: We got this warning email from our hosting server side. Its warning for all wordpress user. As you are aware, due to the new vulnerabilities in Wordpress, we have disabled access to the WorPress Admin. We will remove this lockdown at 1:30pm Eastern time today, August 19, 2014, however, in order to help protect your site from any future brute force attacks, we implore you to take the following actions. 1. Upgrade to the latest version of Wordpress. Starting with WordPress 3.7, automatic updates have been turned on and you should utilize this service. 2. Change both the admin username and password: By default, the administrator login name is set to “admin” – and most brute force scripts have this ID and some basic variations (e.g. administrator, root, test, etc…) hardcoded as the IDs they attempt to break into. Change the username for your administrator account to something obscure. o install the following Plug-in to accomplish this task: wordpress.org/plugins/better-wp-security/ 3. Change all passwords for all users that have access to the WordPress administrator Failure to follow these 3 steps may lead to your site being compromised.
